Tarek Souei, the Chief Executive Officer of the Asian Paralympic Committee, participated as a technical delegate in the officiating work of the 2023 China Para Athletics Championships. He visited the Huanglong Sports Centre with WPA officials, including Ruth Lion, to learn about the operation of the venue and inspect the facilities. During this visit, Tarek and his team also provided special training sessions for national technical officials, sharing the latest edition of the Paralympic Athletics Competition Rules for 2023.

With repetitions of the word "wonderful", Tarek expressed appreciation for the facilities at the Huanglong Sports Centre Stadium. According to him, the China Para Athletics Championships and the Asian Para Games are of great significance, as they would not only facilitate the social inclusion for para athletes, but also boost the development of undertakings for people with impairments, such as the renovation of accessible facilities.

In the days to come, Ruth and other colleagues will closely collaborate with Hangzhou Asian Para Games Organising Committee to assist the Huanglong Sports Centre in preparing for the athletics event at Hangzhou Asian Para Games. They will work hard to render this high-standard and high-level sports venue universally accessible to athletes from other participating countries and regions.
