"The sailing and windsurfing events of the Hangzhou Asian Games will be held at the Ningbo Xiangshan Sailing Centre. I included relevant elements in the design of my patchwork." Fu Chunye, a cloth craftsman in Ningbo, Zhejiang Province, completed a piece of patchwork to welcome the Asian Games in September.

"It took me nearly a month to finish this work, with a total of more than 10,000 stitches." Fu Chunye said.

The work is 50 centimetres long and 30 centimetres wide. The blue sea of Xiangshan, which is sewn on both sides, shines brightly. It incorporates many elements of the Asian Games, such as the emblem of the Asian Games and the words of welcoming the Asian Games. It also incorporates the local traditional hand-woven cloth and seasonal flowers in Ningbo, reflecting the cheerful attitude of the peaceful and harmonious people in this oriental port city towards the Asian Games.
