A bicycle team with fascinating equipment and orderly formation can be frequently seen in the street of Zhuji, Shaoxing, Zhejiang. This is Zhuji Jindun Elderly Cycling Tour Team. The members are more than 60 years old on average. Among them, the oldest member is 79 years old.

Wang Weiping as the team leader was once a member of Zhuji Mountaineering Association, and was determined by the doctor to be permanently impaired due to the injury. However, through the cycling tour, she can not only ride a bike, but also climb mountains. Sports brought her health and happiness. Inspired by her, more and more people joined the elderly cycling tour team. The members said that, the sport can strengthen the body and the people wearing the fascinating sports equipment seemed to feel young.

Expand the knowledge

This is not a cycling team but a cycling tour team, because the elderly riders can visit the landscape by cycling. The cycling tour is targeted. It is required to select some historical & cultural sites, including "popular destinations" and revolutionary tourist attractions reputed as the "stars of villages and towns", or scenic spots seen on the newspaper. In this way, the team can enjoy the pleasure of cycling and increase the knowledge. In addition to Zhuji, they used to visit the farthest places around Hainan Island and Taihu Lake, as well as Sanqing Mountain, Mount Tai, and Laoshan Mountain.

Make more friends

This group of elderly riders has the clear division of labour, with tacit cooperation, just like a big family, enjoying themselves. Such atmosphere attracts the like-minded people during the journey. Wang Xiaoming, a member of the team, recalled that, a few years ago, one foreigner was attracted to the team. He was Aybek, an expert of Zhuji Jindun Company. Although he was nearly 70 years old, he loved sports with excellent physical fitness.
