Outdoor badminton was launched by the Badminton World Federation (BWF) in 2019. It is a new badminton sport that is suitable for all people regardless of age and sex and is carried out in the outdoor area. Since the promotion in 2021, this sport has been widely favoured by badminton enthusiasts.

Recently, the first permanent outdoor badminton court of China has been settled in Binjiang Gymnasium of Hangzhou. This venue is also the competition venue of the badminton event of Hangzhou Asian Games. At that time, the sports enthusiasts from all over Asia will come to watch the game, and this outdoor venue is undoubtedly the best place for citizens to do exercise.

In order to increase the public cognition and contact for outdoor badminton, the outdoor badminton court of Binjiang Gymnasium of Hangzhou is open free of charge, and the citizens can only make the venue reservation online.

In 2023, Chinese Badminton Association will continue to cooperate with the Badminton World Federation (BWF), and strive for more venues to land in the cities of China, so as to boost the development of outdoor badminton in China with practical actions.
