Jinhua craftsman makes paper sepaktakraws for Asian Games
On April 25, at the Hangzhou Asian Games NOC Chefs de Mission Seminar, paper sepaktakraw was presented at the Jinhua city booth and was favored by NOC representatives from 45 Asian countries (regions). Since then, paper sepaktakraws have become a fashion and gifts for various activities in Jinhua.
This sepaktakraw is made by Wang Jun, a representative inheritor of traditional weaving techniques in Wucheng District, Jinhua City, Zhejiang Province. Passionate about traditional culture, she began to link traditional weaving techniques and sepaktakraws and make paper sepaktakraws. These crafts are replicas of sepaktakraws, with exactly the same size as standard ones and similar weight, which can be played.
As a co-host city of Hangzhou Asian Games, Jinhua will hold the Hangzhou Asian Games sepaktakraw event. Wang Jun said she felt very excited to celebrate the Hangzhou Asian Games with her own handcrafts.
