Mengtian space lab module, one of three modules in China's Space Station, was successfully launched in Hainan the other day. The lab module is equipped with the world's first space-used cold atomic optical clock independently researched and developed by China. One of the key components of the clock was co-developed by the National Time Service Center of CAS and Hangzhou Institute for Advanced Study of UCAS which is known for its superior research conditions and has trained and cultivated a large number of outstanding talents.

The institute has built two provincial and ministerial-level key labs, including Gravitational Wave Cosmic Taichi Lab which is the core platform supporting Hangzhou Taichi Program for the detection of gravitational wave in space.

Also, Hangzhou has accelerated the construction of the research project and has built six campuses or graduate schools of first-rate universities, 23 China-foreign cooperative education institutions or projects (non-separate legal entities) and 26 advanced scientific research institutions in the spacing of five years. With these efforts, Hangzhou has attracted more and more national-level key sci-tech programs and talents, which has injected vitality to the innovative development of Hangzhou.
