Paralympic swimming champion Yin Jianhua helps para-athletes pursue their dreams

In the Taizhou leg of the Hangzhou Asian Games Torch Relay, Yin Jianhua, the 84th torch bearer, fulfilled his role.
From 1992 to 2011, Yin won 54 gold medals in para-swimming competitions both domestically and internationally, shattering world records on 17 occasions. Notably, at the Sydney 2000 Paralympic Games, he secured the first-ever gold medal for Zhejiang and at the Athens 2004 Paralympic Games, he made history as the first Chinese para-athlete to clinch consecutive gold swimming medals.
As a former athlete, Yin demonstrated his talent for identifying and nurturing para-athletes. Thanks to his guidance, rower Wang Qian made 1 gold medal at the Incheon 2014 Asian Para Games, athletics athlete Xie Wanxuan secured 1 gold and 3 silver medals at the 10th National Para Games (NPG), and cyclist Pan Guoshun claimed 1 gold medal at the 11th NPG, to name a few only.
Yin has inspired people with an impairment with his own experiences, igniting the flame of aspiration within them. He wants to motivate them to pursue their dreams and strive for a better life.
