Hu Yao, a native of Hangzhou, became paralysed in the lower half of his body in an accident. Encouraged by his fellow patients, he sought support from the Hangzhou Disabled Persons' Federation and joined the wheelchair dancing team.

Due to the paralysis in his lower body, Hu often experiences friction-related injuries such as broken skin or bleeding during wheelchair training. Zhu Yongmei, his dance partner, has helped him a lot. Through training alongside his positive teammates, Hu finds limitless strength and determination.

With Hangzhou Asian Para Games approaching, the Hangzhou Wheelchair Dancing Team has been presented with more opportunities to showcase their talents. Hu has spent most of his time dancing and received training in other sports games such as floor curling.
