On August 22 (local time), Qi Cuifang, a para athlete from Qingdao City, Shandong Province, won the champion of the Women's BC4 Individual Event of the Poznań 2023 World Boccia Challenger held in Poland.

This was the first world-class competition the Chinese Boccia Team had participated in after the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games and a crucial battle to earn points for the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games. It was also the first international competition for Qi Cuifang. Although she was defeated by a player from Hong Kong in the group event, Qi Cuifang still managed to advance as the second-place finisher. In the final, having analysed the reasons for her loss, she calmed herself down, adjusted her strategy, and eventually defeated the strong opponent and bore the palm at 3-1.
