From July 31 to August 7, at the Manchester 2023 Para Swimming World Championships, Jiang Yuyan, a 19-year-old girl from Shaoxing, rewrote three world records and one Asian record, bringing home four golds and two silvers.

"Without prosthetics and wheelchair, I can move freely in the water," Jiang Yuyan said. That is one of the main reasons why she loves swimming.

Jiang Yuyan previously clinched three golds and one silver at the Jakarta 2018 Asian Para Games and three golds and two bronzes at the London 2019 World Para Swimming Allianz Championships, breaking two world records. In August 2021, she was selected to represent China in the 16th Paralympic Games as the youngest athlete in the delegation, and eventually won two golds and one silver, together with a first-class merit from Zhejiang provincial government.

Having ended her journey to the World Para Swimming Championships, Jiang Yuyan will continue immersing herself in intense training to prepare for the Hangzhou Asian Para Games. She hopes to win more gold medals and let China's national flag raised and national anthem sung again, showcasing the sportsmanship through her hard work.
