As the Hangzhou Asian Games approaches, Song Zhiming, a master of arts and crafts in Hangzhou, has designed a series of West Lake silk umbrellas with mascots' patterns on them.

"The Asian Games will be held in Hangzhou next year. As the representative inheritor of the national intangible cultural heritage West Lake silk umbrella, I want to welcome the arrival of the Games," Said Song.

His silk umbrellas vividly show the image of the mascots of the Games through gradual painting techniques, blending traditional skills and modern sports.

As a unique traditional handicraft in Hangzhou, the West Lake silk umbrella was included in the second batch of national intangible cultural heritages in 2008. With bamboo as the ribs and silk as the surface, it is light and beautiful, convenient to carry. It is also known as the "flower of the West Lake".
