Since winning the bid to host the 19th Asian Games, Hangzhou, the host city, has joined hands with five co-host cities of Ningbo, Wenzhou, Huzhou, Shaoxing, and Jinhua to practise the concept of "Green, Smart, Economical, and Ethical" and present the world with a sports and cultural event featuring Chinese Style, Asian Glamour, Spectacular.

Up to now, the work of sport entries has been completed, with over 12,500 athletes registered, hitting record. All 54 Asian Games venues have been completed and accepted. The Asian Games Village and Sub-villages are ready for accommodation. The first batch of Hangzhou Asian Games Identity and Accreditation Cards have been delivered and posted off. As the Hangzhou Asian Games are progressing into the Games-time phase, Hangzhou has entered the home stretch for the Games.

All the venue operation teams are hosting major sports events one after another to refine details for the Games. The NOC Chefs de Mission Seminar, World Press Briefing and other international meetings have been held in succession, facilitating exchanges between the Hangzhou Asian Games Organising Committee and representatives from various Asian countries and regions to further optimise Games-time services.

During the preparation, Hangzhou has made the "Asian Games for Better City" true and will continue to promote the urban quality improvement action, the urban governance improvement action, and the urban civilisation improvement action. Moreover, Hangzhou has pioneered opening venues to the public before the Games, involving over eight million people participating in sports and fitness activities. It has also opened the Asian Games Museum to promote sports in Asia. Besides, efforts have been made to enhance the city's transportation networks, build special routes for the Games, beautify city roads, improve people's manners, and foster new attitudes to welcome the Asian Games.
