As 'Smart' is one of the concepts of the Hangzhou Asian Games, some state-of-the-art communication technologies will be broadly applied during the Hangzhou Asian Games.
5G-Advanced (5G-A for short) network is a globally leading communication technology that can enhance the speed by 10 times compared with 5G gigabit networks. This technology has already been deployed in intelligent connected vehicles, smart venue operations, and other Games-time scenarios. The first-ever demonstration 5G-A 10-gigabit network will be installed along the route connecting the Hangzhou Olympic Sports Centre and the Asian Games Village.
Operating staff introduced that passive IoT (Internet of Things) will also be widely applied during smart Games-time management. The China Hangzhou Esports Centre will use passive IoT tags in cockpits to monitor environmental temperatures and humidity in real time. Passive IoT tags will be employed in the Asian Games Village to facilitate the tracking of logistics vehicles and warehouse management. These tags will also assist in asset inventory management and enable the monitoring of valuable assets, such as vehicles and electric bicycles, to prevent theft.
Autonomous driving technology will be applied to driverless buses for the Asian Games bus route. During the Games, driverless buses will shuttle back and forth between the Deqing Sports Centre Gymnasium and the Deqing Geographic Information Town Basketball Court, both of which are Asian Games competition venues.
