On the evening of April 8, the 2023 Chinese Football Association (CFA) Super Cup kicked off at Huanglong Sports Centre Stadium in Zhejiang Province. The exciting event and the refreshed Huanglong Stadium stunned 26,998 spectators.

CFA announced that the new season of the Chinese Super League will start on April 15, and this Super Cup tonight is the best warm-up for the new season.

The first major match of Chinese football in 2023 saw the two sides as Wuhan Three Towns, champion of last season of CFA Super League, and Shandong Taishan, champion of last year's CFA Cup.

Wuhan Three Towns dominated the match, and Shandong Taishan failed to create opportunities to score. Xie Pengfei seized an opportunity in the second half to make another goal to eliminate the rival's hope.

"It's my first time to be here since its renovation. So cool!" Mr. Zhang, a Hangzhou native who has been a football fan for over a decade, he and many others have waited for nearly three and a half years to re-enter Huanglong Sports Centre Stadium. Fans from Shandong and Wuhan were even more surprised by the stadium.

With high-tech means such as DJ music, light show, and large circular LED screens, Huanglong Sports Centre Stadium provided spectators with a multi-dimensional and multi-angle viewing experience of sounds and lights that night.

The organiser also used the giant towers on both sides of the stadium to project the team badges, main colors of their uniforms, and the two championship trophies of both sides, creating a cool sense of ceremony.

Pedro, head coach of Wuhan Three Towns was deeply impressed by the facilities of the Huanglong Sports Centre Stadium, believing that this is a good choice for players' performance.

This CFA Super Cup match saw 26,998 spectators on-site, making it the largest event experienced by the Huanglong Sports Centre after renovation. It was also a stress testing for the football event of the Hangzhou Asian Games to check the venue's operation.

According to Shen Bin, Director of Huanglong Sports Centre, Huanglong had not seen any major events for more than three years, and this CFA Super Cup was a test event based on the standards of the formal Asian Games. "It's generally good, but some details require improvement."

As the home stadium of Zhejiang team's league matches for many years, Huanglong Sports Centre has also hosted international competitions such as the FIFA Women's World Cup. When the stadium was "back in business", the operational team maintained its stable performance.
