On March 13-16, KUDOH Seiji as the coordinator and daily contact person of the Sports Department of Japanese Olympic Committee, and KABAYAMA Masashi as the manager of the Department of Transportation, visited Hangzhou, and they were the third group of guests hosted by Hangzhou Asian Games Organising Committee after the visit of Saudi and Korean Olympic Committee Delegations.
During the visit, Japanese Olympic Committee Delegation focused on investigating the Asian Games Village and Asian Games venues such as Hangzhou Olympic Sports Centre Stadium, Tennis Centre, Basketball Gym and Aquatic Sports Arena. The delegation held the work exchange meeting with the Asian Games Village Operation Team and Hangzhou Asian Games Organising Committee with regard to the contact and service of the national (regional) Olympic committees, as well as sports, registration, accommodation and other business fields.
"This is my first visit to Hangzhou. This city is very clean and beautiful. After visiting the Asian Games venues, I think that they are very spectacular," KUDOH Seiji said.
The delegation visited the facilities in the Asian Games Village, paid close attention to the room layout and facilities in the Athletes Village, and conducted the in-depth discussion and exchange with the staff on the issues of major concern to Japanese Sports Delegation.
Japan is a powerful sports country in Asia. It has held many Olympic Games and Asian Games, with rich experience in attending and hosting international events. Judo, skateboarding, baseball, softball, karate, swimming and so on are its superior events. In the newly-added competition events of Hangzhou Asian Games, esports is one of the major concerns of Japanese spectators. It is expected that Japan will assign the sports delegation composed of about 1,000 people to participate in Hangzhou Asian Games.
