On February 3, the Third Xinyada Cup "Zhisheng" Mind Sports Games and the Third Nuohui Cup Bridge Tournament kicked off in the International Exchange Centre of Hangzhou Branch Of China Qi-Yuan (Zhili Building) by Qiantang River. The three-day event attracted more than 400 players of about 800 teams from all over the country. The number of participating teams and players nearly doubled what it was last year.

Bridge originated in Britain in the 16th century, known as "whist" in the 1700s. It was gradually developed into modern bridge after the 18th century. Unlike the poker game, the bridge competition can eliminate the elements of luck to the utmost extent, which greatly tests the brainstorming ability of athletes. At the Asian Games Jakarta 2018, bridge made its debut. Chinese Team seized three gold medals, one silver medal and two bronze medals, becoming the biggest winner.

Before that, Chinese Men's Team for the bridge event of Hangzhou Asian Games had been announced. Three combinations, such as Zhuang Zejun/Liu Jing, Ju Chuancheng/Shi Zhengjun and Hu Linlin/Liu Yinghao, would represent China to participate in the men's team competition of the bridge event of Hangzhou Asian Games. Four famous national players, including Hu Linlin, Zhuang Zejun, Shi Zhengjun and Ju Chuancheng, gathered in Hangzhou to attend the Mind Sports Games so as to actively prepare for the Asian Games.
