Mascots of Hangzhou Asian Games introduce Zhejiang's culture in Japan

On the morning of November 17, in order to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the normalization of diplomatic relations between China and Japan and greet the 19th Asian Games, "Picturesque Zhejiang · Meeting in Mount Fuji" Culture & Tourism Series Exchange Activity was launched in Shizuoka, Japan.

Chu Ziyu as the head of Zhejiang Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, and Chen Zheng as the minister-counselor of the culture division of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Japan, delivered a video speech. About 100 people attended and cut the ribbon at an opening ceremony, including Kyoji Hitoshi as the head of Shizuoka Department of Sports, Culture and Tourism, and Ouyang An as the chief representative of the Tourism Representative Office of China in Tokyo. Chinese and Japanese representatives expressed their congratulations on friendly exchanges between two countries for years and hoped to establish closer cooperation relationship in the future.

At the launch ceremony, the mascot dolls of Hangzhou Asian Games exchanged gifts with Japanese National Cartoon Character Chi-bi Maruko and Shizuoka Official Mascot Fujippi to commemorate nearly 40 years of friendly relations between Zhejiang and Shizuoka.

The event focused on three themes including "Humanistic Origin", "Picturesque Realm" and "Meeting at the Asian Games" to show the abundant intangible cultural heritage resources and charming landscapes of Zhejiang and the highlights of the 19th Asian Games to Japanese representatives.

In the following three days, the mascots of the Asian Games were invited by Shizuoka to participate in "Picturesque Zhejiang" Tour Activity so as to maintain the friendship between Zhejiang and Shizuoka and the blessings to the Asian Games.
