Two handball competition venues for Hangzhou Asian Games are hidden in the campus. One is Zhejiang Normal University Xiaoshan Gymnasium; the other is Zhejiang Gongshang University Sports Centre.

Zhejiang Normal University Xiaoshan Gymnasium is the only competition venue that is built in the university. The 308-strand "water curtain" is a highlight which will light up one by one at night, interweaving to show a specific pattern.

In April, 2022, the venue started to be open to the teachers and students in the campus. At the beginning, only the physical education class (handball) of the Preschool Teachers College was arranged here. After the postponement of the Asian Games, the venue is becoming the bigclassroom for teachers and students to take the physical education class. The good-looking gymnasium is also a popular place for teachers and students to take photos. During the graduation season in June, many graduates came here to take group photos. The graduation ceremony was also held in the venue. Next, the venue will successively launch various handball competitions.

Another handball venue of Hangzhou Asian Games is located in Zhejiang Gongshang University Sports Centre. The large and small venues look like sunflowers. The sports centre is a renovated venue. More professional sports floors have been paved in the venue to better protect the safety of players. The upgrade of lighting also meets the needs of 4K high-definition broadcast during the Asian Games. Covering an area of 1,500 square metres, the temporary media broadcast area added will be dismantled after the event. The rest will be retained as the sports facilities of Zhejiang Gongshang University after the event.
