On May 7-8, the Speed Group Trial of the National Sport Climbing Training Team for the Asian Games Hangzhou 2022 was held in the South Base for National Sports Training.

Teams and individuals from 14 regions participated in the trial. The participants were the best in China Speed Climbing. They were from the athletes preparing for Hangzhou Asian Games, the Second Training Camp for Paris Olympic Games, and the male and female players who had been included in the top eight athletes of the national speed event since 2021.

It was reported that, the top six male and female players of this event would enter Hangzhou Asian Games National Training Team whose members may participate in the speed climbing event of Hangzhou Asian Games.

Known as "Ballet on Cliffs", sport climbing is listed as the competition event of Hangzhou Asian Games and Paris Olympic Games again following Jakarta Asian Games and Tokyo Olympic Games. Sport climbing includes speed, bouldering, difficulty and all-round competitions. Six gold medals will be available for grabs in the sport climbing event of Hangzhou Asian Games.
