On May 4-6, "Exciting Hangzhou" Zhejiang Water Sports Invitational (Rowing) 2022 was held in Fuyang Water Sports Centre. This was the first competition after Fuyang Water Sports Centre was completed.

Seventy-two athletes from nine sports teams gathered here to compete in 14 events. Among these young players from Zhejiang Provincial Team, there were many star players, including the champions of the National Championships, and the champions and runners-up of the World Youth Championships. The competition was very exciting.

Fuyang Water Sports Centre holding the competition was well received by the players. As the competition venue for the rowing and canoe & kayak (canoe sprint & canoe slalom) of Hangzhou Asian Games, Fuyang Water Sports Centre was designed to follow the "Green" and "Smart" concept, so that the venue was combined with rolling hills and winding rivers in surrounding areas. Zhang Qingyu, a player from Lishui, said: "The water here is particularly clean, and there are interesting buildings and cultural corridors on the shore, which is very beautiful." Sun Hongjing, a player from Ningbo Team, stated that, she observed the surrounding environment and considered that it was suitable for the competition, and different buildings on both banks of the river made her feel happy.

Compared with indoor sports venues, the competition zone of Fuyang Water Sports Centre was located in Beizhi River. The operation of the venue was more complicated, but the players were deeply impressed by the considerate service of the working personnel in this event. Before the competition, the volunteers carefully helped the players keep their shoes and credentials, and enthusiastically cheered for the players. The rest area for athletes in the venue was also very comfortable, provided with the dynamometers for athletes to warm up and train before the competition.

Next, Fuyang Water Sports Centre will also hold the Canoe Sprint Invitational and Canoe Slalom Open Tournament to prepare for larger events in future.
