From one EDFZ to another, the horses specially used for the event have been under the closed-loop and safe environment. In order to better hold the equestrian competition of Hangzhou Asian Games, the builders of Tonglu Equestrian Centre have exerted great efforts.

The full name of EDFZ is Specific Equine Disease-free Zone, which is to say that, there are no specific equine diseases in this zone. Such equine diseases involve 19 varieties. On January 6, 2022, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of the People's Republic of China issued the Announcement (No. 510), declared that, Hangzhou Tonglu Specific Equine Disease-free Zone passed the national assessment. Tonglu officially became the second Specific Equine Disease-free Zone of China. At the end of March, 2022, Tonglu was recognized by the World Organization for Animal Health, which indicated that, the animal disease prevention & control work of Tonglu EDFZ was recognized by the international community.

How do horses enter the venue during Hangzhou Asian Games? As the Vice Director of the Facility Operation & Maintenance Group of Tonglu Equestrian Venue Operation Team, Yu Lei introduced: "After at least three months of health examination in a place of origin, horses will be quarantined for 45 days after arriving at the destination, and then enter the competition venue. Tonglu Equestrian Centre will be open to overseas horses on September 2. Therefore, we cannot see the scene of horses galloping in the competition venue at present."

As the "smart brain" of venue management, the smart venue management system of Tonglu Equestrian Centre provides the real-time monitoring data of scenes, such as venue characteristics, events, security, fire fighting, passenger traffic and energy. The virtual horse scene can carry out the real-time detection on whether the stable's temperature, humidity, air quality and monitoring are abnormal, so that the horse may live here comfortably. The competitors can check the surveillance video of horses in a real-time manner to know about "competing partners". The event organiser will provide spectators with leasing service of VR glasses free of charge. The spectators wearing VR glasses can watch all the synchronized scenes in each competition zone, even though they sit in a remote corner of the venue. Is that cool?
