From April 8, "Exciting Hangzhou" National Karate Tournament Series 2022 (First Stop) is staged in Linping Sports Centre Gymnasium. A total of 246 karate athletes from all over the country compete for 12 gold medals. This means that Linping is getting prepared for Asian Games Hangzhou 2022.

The competition venue is arranged according to the standard for international events. The venue is rectangular with two arenas for karate at the centre. Arena A is for finals, while Arena B is for preliminaries. Two arenas are arranged simultaneously to improve audiences' visual experience, though Arena B is usually not built until finals in previous competitions.

After reconstruction, the gymnasium covers a land area of 8,383 square meters, with a construction area of 16,885 square meters, with a 46 meters x 28.5 meters court at the centre and 4,200 seats for audiences, of which, 900 are movable pull-out seats. The competition venue will stage men's volleyball and men's karate during Asian Games Hangzhou 2022, as well as sitting volleyball during Asian Para Games Hangzhou 2022. Twelve gold medals will be awarded for karate, one gold medal will be awarded for men's volleyball, and two gold medals will be awarded for sitting volleyball.
