Shaoxing in Zhejiang Province is one of the co-host cities of the 19th Asian Games Hangzhou 2022. With 5 competition events including baseball (softball), basketball, rock climbing and volleyball as well as football training event to be host here then, it is the city that holds the most Asian Games events behind Hangzhou.

Shaoxing Olympic Sports Center Gymnasium

Shaoxing Olympic Sports Center Gymnasium to host basketball matches during Hangzhou Asian Games has been completed and accepted, making it the first completed Asian Games project in Shaoxing.

Shaoxing Olympic Sports Center Gymnasium, located in Jinghu New District, Shaoxing, has a total of 9,550 seats. As a renovated and upgraded arena, with changes mainly made in the following aspects: lighting transformation, equipment procurement, supporting functional facilities' renovation and intelligent construction, off-site facility renovation and landscaping for competition arenas, it will host basketball matches during Hangzhou Asian Games when completed.

Baseball (Softball) Sports Culture Center for Hangzhou Asian Games

Located at the junction of Keqiao District and Jinghu New District in Shaoxing, Zhejiang Province, the project of Baseball (Softball) Sports Culture Center for Hangzhou Asian Games is now a hive of activity.

As of 26th February, 2021, the project had completed 28.5% of the overall image, 100% of the basement engineering piles, earth excavation, floor concrete and roof concrete, and 98% of the foundation pit enclosing piles. As to the Training Center, 3-layer steel structure has been installed and 43,000 square meters of basement formwork have been demolished.

Yangshan Rock Climbing Center

"Since the full resumption of work on the sixth day of the first lunar month this year, the project has been progressing at full capacity. At present, the excavation of the shallow foundation of the cushion cap has been completed; the field construction and the production of steel structural parts have advanced together. It is planned to complete the foundation construction in April 2021, and to have the project finished and accepted at the end of October 2021." As introduced by relevant responsible person of Shaoxing Keqiao District Education and Sports Bureau, Yangshan Rock Climbing Center consists of competition venue, warm-up field, indoor arena and relevant supporting facilities and is designed to have 2,100 seats. "It will be used as the venue for rock climbing event during the 19th Asian Games Hangzhou 2022 when completed."

Gymnasium of China Textile City Sports Center

The interior decoration of the Gymnasium of China Textile City Sports Center has been completed. In order to meet the requirements of the Asian Games volleyball competitions, the construction personnel are comprehensively installing, debugging and upgrading the equipment. Up till now, the project has completed 94% of the overall image.

"The renovations of the Gymnasium include the competition venues, facilities in spectator areas, functional rooms and dedicated systems for events, media and broadcast areas, security and transportation facilities, etc."

According to the staff, the competition area will cover 3,100 square meters and the training area 1,400 square meters; there will be more than 5,000 seats for spectators. The project is scheduled to be completed and accepted in April 2021.

Jianhu Football Field

Shaoxing Keqiao District Jianhu Football Field is the football training ground for Hangzhou Asian Games. The renovation project has currently been going at full blast.

"Covering a land area of 37,300 square meters and a construction area of 7,200 square meters, Jianhu Football Field will be built into a four-area training field equipped with the stand, dormitory, indoor training ground, car park and other supporting facilities."

"In order to finish this huge project with high standard and high quality in a short period of time and make sure it is up to the construction standard of the Asian Games football field, the project has adopted the mode of acceptance for the lack of part of the material so that the construction can be carried out while the approval procedure is in progress and does cross operation to catch up with the construction progress in all aspects." said the site supervisor.

Relevant responsible person of Shaoxing Keqiao District Organizing Committee for the 19th Asian Games Hangzhou 2022 said that the year of 2021 was the decisive year for the Asian Games, and that they would ensure the smooth construction of the Asian Games venues in Keqiao District and orderly progress of all preparations for the Asian Games.
