Hangzhou Asian Games Short Video Competition and the Mass Review of the International Etiquette Contest convened on 24th February. Chen Weiqiang, deputy secretary-general of the Organizing Committee for the 19th Asian Games Hangzhou 2022 (hereinafter referred to as the Organizing Committee) and deputy mayor of Hangzhou, and directors from committee-affiliated organizations and co-organizers attended the event. Chen announced the start of the short video competition and the mass review of the International Etiquette Contest.
Hangzhou Asian Games Short Video Competition Starts, Offering a Highest Reward of 100,000 Yuan
Hangzhou Asian Games Short Video Competition worldwide, with the theme of “Everybody is great”, is hosted by the Organizing Committee to promote the internationalization of Hangzhou Asian Games, making it a grand event involving large quantities of people and full of humanistic atmosphere. The competition, lasting to 18th June, 2021, is open to domestic and overseas vloggers, sports lovers, enthusiasts and organizations that concern and support the preparation of Hangzhou Asian Games.
Mao Genhong, deputy secretary-general of the Organizing Committee and office director, said in his speech that short video is a new generation of “world language”. An important part of Hangzhou Asian Games IP, the competition has profound influence on inspiring global participance and spreading and exchanging sports spirit.
All applicants are required to shoot creative, innovative short videos from a unique perspective centering on the theme of “Everybody is great”. Spirits like “Sports Asian Games, City Asian Games & Brand Asian Games” and “Green, Smart, Frugal & Civilized” should be reflected in the video.
Awards settings: first prize – 1; second prize – 3; third prize – 5, best organizer – 6. Prize winners will gain both a certificate of honor and cash bonus. 100,000 yuan before tax for first prize, 50,000 yuan before tax for second prize, 30,000 yuan before tax for third prize, and 50,000 yuan before tax for best organizer. Besides, awarded works will be released on the official website of Hangzhou Asian Games, Asian Games Channel, and the official accounts of the Games on WeChat, Weibo, Twitter, YouTube, TikTok, and other online platforms.

The Mass Review of the International Etiquette Contest Starts; 450 Participants Compete for 20 Awards
The International Etiquette Contest is an Asian Games cultural activity aiming to promote urban civilization level, improve citizens’ civilization quality, and show the etiquette of China to the world. More than 20,000 people, aged 8 – 72, from foreign countries and regions like the United States, Russian, Ukraine, India, and Tanzania, or from over 20 provinces, provincial-level cities, and autonomous regions in China, have taken part in the contest since it started on 27th September, 2020.
The jury for the mass review, consisting of experts and scholars from Zhejiang University, Communication University of Zhejiang, Tourism College of Zhejiang, Youli Culture Research Association of Zhejiang Association for Ethical Studies, and Expert Database of Zhejiang Civilization Office, was formally founded at the site. The Organizing Committee issued letters of appointment to the judges.
Bao Song, chairman of the jury, promised that all judges will perform a positive role in the review and select the best participants while sticking to the principle of “just, fair and open”.
450 out of over 20,000 participants will enter the preliminary contest, and 10 “Stars of Urban Civilization Etiquette” and 10 “Stars of Competition Service Etiquette” will finally be selected out after preliminary contest, semi-final and final. All prize winners will gain a certificate of honor and bonus from the Organizing Committee and even get the chance of working as an etiquette volunteer at the Asian Games.
