Bangkok, Thailand, November 6, 2019: Four days of Tokyo 2020-oriented regional forums came to an end for the Olympic Council of Asia's 45 National Olympic Committees at the Arnoma Grand Hotel in Bangkok on Wednesday afternoon.
The first forum, on November 3-4, was for NOCs from East Asia and South East Asia and the second forum, from November 5-6, was for NOCs from West Asia, Central Asia and South Asia.
The main theme was preparing the NOC delegations to compete in the Olympic Games in Tokyo next summer and presentations were given by the IOC's Olympic Solidarity as well as the Tokyo 2020 organisers.
The topics included the role of the Chef de Mission, ticketing, accreditation, grants and subsidies available to NOCs, accommodation, transportation, medical and anti-doping and marketing.
There were also presentations on the progress of two upcoming OCA events: the 6th Asian Beach Games in Sanya, China from November 28 to December 6, 2020 and the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou, China, from September 10-25, 2022.
Wrapping up the second forum on behalf of the OCA, Asian Games Director Haider Farman thanked all the NOCs for their contribution.
"We look forward to your feedback and communication. Do not hesitate to contact the OCA – and next year we will 'See ya in Sanya'," he said, referring to the slogan of the 6th Asian Beach Games.
The head of the Olympic Solidarity delegation at the forum, Olivier Niamkey, added: "It has been a four-day forum with lots of presentations and interaction and with great satisfaction in the outcome.
"There has been a lot of information and we hope it has been useful. I would like to thank the Thailand National Olympic Committee for the organisation, support and set-up of the forum, all the NOCs for taking part, the OCA, IOC, Tokyo 2020, Hangzhou 2022 and Sanya 2020. We look forward to the next forum next year."
Hangzhou 2022 reported that the slogan for the next Asian Games would be revealed at the 1,000-day countdown ceremony on December 15, while Sanya 2020 plans to introduce their mascot for the 6th Asian Beach Games on November 28 at the one-year-countdown ceremony.
