Mark green on Asian Games Hangzhou 2022: Campaign "Plant a Tree for Hangzhou Asian Games" starts

Recently, Zhejiang Provincial Green Committee Office, HAGOC and Zhejiang Provincial Forestry Bureau jointly issued a Notice on Conducting Campaign "Plant a Tree for Asian Games Hangzhou 2022". On the yesterday morning, the campaign "Plant a Tree for Asian Games Hangzhou 2022" was officially launched.

It is reported that this campaign is scheduled from February to April and takes the Tree Planting Day as the focus. The provincial leaders, government will firstly set good examples by joining in voluntary tree planting. Meanwhile, citizens around Zhejiang Province will be extensively encouraged to take part in it. In this campaign, the member organizations of the Provincial Green Committee Offices at all levels and 6 host cities for Hangzhou 2022 will be regarded as the important places to develop Hangzhou 2022 carbon neutrality forest, leaving them green prints.

Besides, it is also reported that, since 2018, over 200 Mu land of Asian Games Village has been covered with more than 10,000 trees which will change colors with the seasons, mainly including camphor trees, phoebe trees and beeches that are all native to Zhejiang. At present, these trees grow well. Through 5 years of efforts, a "green ribbon" stretches 4 kilometers long along the Qiantang River, providing a beautiful, harmonious and striking scenery for the green and low-carbon Hangzhou 2022.
