There are less than two weeks to go before the opening of the World University Games in Chengdu. The sporting events of the Universiade will take place in 27 competition venues, a combination of brand new structures and existing ones.

Let's take a look at some of the venues, as well as the Universiade Village that the athletes will call home during their stay in Chengdu.

Dong'an Lake Sports Park Aquatics Center

Dong'an Lake Sports Park Aquatics Center is a large Class A aquatics center, with one floor of large space above the ground, three floors of local structures and one floor of basement. It covers a floor area of 73,549.33 square meters. One competition pool with 10 lanes and one warm-up pool with 10 lanes are provided. The size of the competition pool is 50mx25m. The water depth is two meters.

The aquatics center will serve as a competition, warm-up and training venue for swimming events during the Chengdu FISU World University Games. The swimming events will be held from August 1 to 7, with a total of 42 gold medals to be awarded.

Dong'an Lake Sports Park Multi-Purpose Gymnasium covers a floor area of 90,169.37 square meters, with one floor of large space and five floors of local structures above the ground, and one floor of semi-basement. One field of play (FoP) and one warm-up area are provided. The size of FoP is 81mx45m.

The gymnasium will serve as a competition and warm-up venue for artistic gymnastics events during the Chengdu FISU World University Games. The artistic gymnastics events will be held from August 1 to 5, with a total of 14 gold medals to be awarded.

As an extra-large Class A venue, Fenghuangshan Sports Park Gymnasium covers a floor area of 119,704.76 square meters, with seven floors above the ground and one floor under the ground. The size of field of play (FoP) is 70mx40m.

This gymnasium will serve as a competition and warm-up venue for basketball events during the Chengdu FISU World University Games. The basketball events will be held from July 28 to August 6, with a total of two gold medals to be awarded.

High-tech Zone Sports Center Gymnasium covers a floor area of 82,732 square meters, with one floor of large space, five floors above the ground and one floor under the ground. One field of play (FoP) with 17 table tennis tables and one warm-up with 16 table tennis tables are provided. The FoP is located on the first floor, and its size is 70mx40m.

This gymnasium will serve as a warm-up and competition venue for table tennis events during the Chengdu FISU World University Games. The table tennis events will be held from July 29 to August 5, with a total of seven gold medals to be awarded.

Xindu Xiangcheng Sports Center Natatorium covers a floor area of 10,935.11 square meters. For water polo, one competition pool with a dimension of 25mx25m and a depth of 2-2.2m is provided.

The natatorium will serve as a competition and warm-up venue for water polo events during the Chengdu FISU World University Games. The water polo events will be held from July 27 to August 8, with a total of two gold medals to be awarded.

Jianyang Cultural and Sports Center Natatorium covers a floor area of 24,000 square meters. One diving pool and one land training area are provided. The size of the diving pool is 25mx20m. The depth of the diving pool is six meters.

The natatorium will serve as a training, warm-up and competition venue for diving events during the Chengdu FISU World University Games. The diving events will be held from July 31 to August 7, with a total of 15 gold medals to be awarded.

Jianyang Cultural and Sports Center Gymnasium covers a floor area of 18,500 square meters. One field of play (FoP) with three tatamis and one warm-up area with four tatamis are provided. The size of FoP is 55mx39m. The net height is 21.5 meters.

The gymnasium will serve as a warm-up and competition venue for judo events during the Chengdu FISU World University Games. The judo events will be held from July 29 to August 1, with a total of 16 gold medals to be awarded.

Wangjiang Campus Gymnasium, Sichuan University will serve as a competition, warm-up and training venue for taekwondo events during the Chengdu FISU World University Games. The events will be held from July 29 to August 4, with a total of 23 gold medals to be awarded.

One field of play (FoP) with three Taekwondo mats, one warm-up area with six Taekwondo mats and one training area with six Taekwondo mats are provided. The size of FoP is 44.8mx31m.

Qingshuihe Campus Gymnasium, at the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, covers a floor area of 23,852 square meters. The size of field of play (FoP) is 57mx42m and the net height is 10 meters.

The gymnasium will serve as a competition and warm-up venue for basketball events during the Games. The events will be held from July 28 to August 6, with a total of two gold medals to be awarded.

Guanghua Campus Gymnasium at the Southwestern University of Finance and Economics features a floor area of 11,453 square meters. One field of play (FoP) and one warm-up area are provided. The size of FoP is 37mx26.6m and the net height is 14 meters. The size of warm-up court is 43.5mx31m and the net height is 6.85 meters.

The gymnasium will serve as a competition and warm-up venue for volleyball events during the Games. The volleyball events will be held from July 29 to August 7, with a total of two gold medals to be awarded.

Xipu Campus Gymnasium at Southwest Jiaotong University features a floor area of 39,750 square meters. One field of play (FoP) and one warm-up area are provided. The size of FoP is 36mx42m and the net height is 21 meters. The net height of the warm-up area is 18 meters.

The gymnasium will also serve as a competition and warm-up venue for volleyball events during the Games.

Chengdu Sport University Gymnasium covers a floor area of 12,261 square meters. The size of field of play (FoP) is 49mx30m and the net height is 26.9 meters.

The gymnasium will serve as a competition venue for rhythmic gymnastics events during the Chengdu FISU World University Games. The rhythmic gymnastics events will be held from July 29 to 31, with a total of eight gold medals to be awarded.

Hongyi Gymnasium, Sichuan Vocational and Technical College of Communications covers a floor area of 8,895 square meters. One field of play (FoP) and one warm-up area are provided. The size of FoP is 35mx28m and the net height is 28.3 meters.

The gymnasium will serve as a competition and warm-up venue for volleyball events during the Chengdu FISU World University Games. The volleyball events will be held from July 29 to August 7, with a total of two gold medals to be awarded.

Xihua University Gymnasium has a floor area of 8,837 square meters, with one field of play (FoP) and one warm-up area. The size of FoP is 43mx26m and the net height is 18 meters.

The gymnasium will serve as a competition and warm-up venue for volleyball during the Chengdu FISU World University Games. The volleyball events will be held from July 29 to August 7, with a total of two gold medals to be awarded.

Sichuan Gymnasium covers an area of 36,437.63 square meters, with a total floor area of 24,900 square meters. The size of field of play (FoP) is 39mx26m and the net height is 14 meters.

The gymnasium will serve as a competition and warm-up venue for basketball during the Chengdu FISU World University Games. The basketball events will be held from July 28 to August 6, with a total of two gold medals to be awarded.

Sichuan International Tennis Center has one court for finals, two courts for semifinals, six outdoor courts, eight indoor back-up courts, one indoor back-up court for finals and eight training courts.

It will serve as a competition, warm-up and training venue for tennis during the Chengdu FISU World University Games. The tennis events will be held from July 29 to August 6, with a total of seven gold medals to be awarded.
