Experts from Incheon, the host city of Republic of Korea for the 17th Asian Games in 2014, recently called on the Organizing Committee for the 19th Asian Games (HAGOC) in Hangzhou to share their experience in preparing for the Games.
Led by Professor Cheng Changxun , the delegation members once worked for the preparations for Incheon Asian Games. They are highly experienced in carrying out venue construction management and marketing promotion activities.
During the meeting, HAGOC officials raised questions of their own concerns in venue construction, design and use of the Asian Games village, channels for marketing, cultural communication, promotion for the host city, and recruitment of volunteers. The Incheon delegation shared their experiences and the lessons they had learnt in preparation for the Incheon Asian Games. They also gave suggestions on the preparatory work for the 19th Asian Games due in Hangzhou in 2022.
Chen Guomei, Deputy Mayor of Hangzhou, thanked the visiting experts, saying that the precious experience of Incheon as a preceding host city was bound to be helpful for Hangzhou’s preparatory work. She also introduced the latest progress in the city’s preparation for the Games, saying that the proposed Sports Program and Venue Plan had been formulated and the construction and renovation of the venues was underway as planned.
