As the Emblem for the 19th Asian Games Hangzhou 2022 (hereinafter referred to as the “Emblem”) has been unveiled on 6 August 2018, we now make the following announcement on matters with respect to the protection of the intellectual property of the Emblem:
I.Pursuant to relevant laws and regulations, the 19th Asian Games Hangzhou 2022 Organising Committee (hereinafter referred to as “HAGOC”) is the legal owner of the Emblem.
II.HAGOC enjoys the exclusive and complete right (copyright) to the Emblem. HAGOC submitted the application for registering the right (copyright) of the Emblem on 22 July 2018 to the National Copyright Administration, which on 2 August 2018 issued the Registration Certificate to HAGOC.
III.The application for the protection of special symbols by HAGOC has been submitted to the National Copyright Administration on 3 August 2018.
IV.Without the authorization of HAGOC, no organization or individual shall in any way use the Emblem for commercial purposes (including potential for commercial conversion). The commercial purposes (including potential for commercial conversion) mainly refer to:
(I)To use the Emblem on commodities, including the packaging or container of the commodities and related transaction documents, etc;
(II)To use the Emblem in service activities;
(III)To use the Emblem in advertisements,business exhibitions, commercial performances and other commercial activities;
(IV)To sell, import and export the commodities with the Emblem;
(V)To produce or sell the Emblem;
(VI)Any other acts that may result in the belief there is sponsorship or other collaborative relationships between the user and HAGOC with the latter endorsing the use of the Emblem.
V.When an organization or individual registers a domain or applies for other rights to the authorities concerned, such rights shall not conflict with HAGOC's legitimate rights to the Emblem that it has obtained before.
VI.All organizations or individuals shall uphold the legitimacy and integrity of the Emblem, and shall not misrepresent, or tamper or employ the Emblemor in other motiffs.
Any organization or individual who has been authorized to use the Emblem shall strictly comply with the technical specifications of standard samples provided by HAGOC,without making any alterations.
VII.In case of any infringement on the intellectual property of the Emblem, HAGOC shall report the matter to the authorities concerned for investigation and seek punishment for the infringement.
VIII.Matters not covered herein shall be dealt with pursuant to the Announcement by the 19th Asian Games Hangzhou 2022 Organising Committee (No.1 (2018)) released on 24 February 2018.
